Sunday Beer: Viva La Beaver Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout

This isn’t the first peanut butter stout I’ve had and like the previous one, it was a gift.

This was nicer than the last attempt at this combination of flavours ( ). I’m not sure what was Mexican about the chocolate.

  1. Usually Mexican chocolate has some spice such as pepper or cinnamon? Anything like that in your beer?

  2. That looks like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in a can.

Also, like the little Wordle things you have on your blog tag. I’ve been earnestly avoiding getting into Wordle, because I’m afraid it would take up waaaaaayyyyyy too much of my time.

  3. I agree, it must have had some cinnamon in it to be qualified as “Mexican”. Occasionally chili peppers, too. They invented the stuff, after all.

Once I had Mexican hot chocolate, I was spoiled for regular (unless it’s also minty).

    I would drink this beer.

  4. Belching Beaver.

I would have a hard time convincing myself to pull the tab on anything with that brand name, I think.

  5. I’ve had a Mayan Mocha Stout from a local brewery here in Michigan — stout with chocolate, coffee, spices, and habanero peppers. It was hot! Interesting to try, but I won’t be running out to get any more!
