Voxopedia replies!

In response to my last post on Vainopedia there is a reply on Infogarbalactic’s Science page: https://infogalactic.com/info/Talk:Science

That is an interesting view. The section was removed because it is irrelevant to the topic (an error I’ve made more than once). Camestros and his/her commenters were not able to understand that. Should there be a “Women of science” page? Along with a “Men of science” page? And/or should a section, paragraph, or sentence be added to this page to the effect that practically all of science (along with math, engineering, invention, construction, war) across time and around the world had been done by men, with the occasional contribution from a woman? 1. As the (sub)topic was ‘Science and society’, the role of half+ of humanity in science could hardly be called irrelevant. You are aware that women are part of society, right?
  2. Should there be a ‘Women of science’ page? You’ve got one already. It looks exactly like this: https://infogalactic.com/info/Women_in_science Although maybe I shouldn’t point it out in case it gets deleted out of fear of girl germs. Of course, if the section from the main science page hadn’t been deleted then you might have known that. Having short sections on a main page is what helps an online encyclopedia work – it allows people to find topics of interest.
  3. Should there be a men in science page? Looks like you’ve made one already by deleting all the women from the ‘Science’ page. I doubt a ‘Men in science’ page is neccesary but it is a better idea than having a page called ‘science’ and only mentioning men.
  4. Should a paragraph be added to effect ‘that practically all of science (along with math, engineering, invention, construction, war) across time and around the world had been done by men’ – if you like. I think most people are probably aware of the historical disparity between what men and women have been allowed to do in many societies, but reminding people of historical discrimination might help.
